Quiet please ... relaxation class in progress

2016 was a great year in Skelmersdale with lots of hard work being done with the VCFS, PULSE, the Artz centre, UKPAR and others. For our part, the Lancashire Wellbeing Service worked with over 800 people for one-to-one help. We also set up a group based around relaxation.

The idea came from one of our service users who used to run relaxation sessions at the school she worked at. Unfortunately she became ill and had to take early retirement. Being social, putting groups together and learning about techniques on how to relax were all things she really enjoyed. The Lancashire Wellbeing Service supported her in putting together a group and introducing her to like-minded people who have also been part of the service.

The group now meets regularly every Thursday fortnight at Skelmersdale library. We have a cup of tea and listen to relaxing pre-recorded meditations. We start at 11am. For the next few dates, please contact the library by telephone to 0300 123 6703 or email skelmersdale.library@lancashire.gov.uk
